Some important information you should know about our Kindergarten:
Backpacks: We highly recommend you to buy a backpack/bag big enough to hold personal belongings and school items. This will ensure that you have received our notes about school happenings and upcoming events. You may also send notes about dismissal or other important information about your child through this folder.
Folders: Your child will have a folder for Kindergarten. It is necessary that your child bring this folder to school every day. All notices, papers, and any homework will go home in this folder every day. You need to check your child’s folder daily and remove the papers in the folder. If you have any paperwork or changes that I need to know about, please put them in your child’s folder because we check them each day.
Dismissal changes: Any notices regarding attendance or dismissal should be placed in your child’s folder. Please do not send an email since I may not be available to check it or in case that I happen to be absent. Please notify the office if you forget to send the note in the folder. You should also call the office to notify changes that may come about during the day.
Bus/walker tags: Please, have your child to wear his/her walker tag to school each day for the first weeks of school. Remind them each day of transportation plans. That will make his/her transition easier and alleviate anxiety.
Snack: We will have a short snack every morning (10 minutes). Please send your child with a nutritious snack and drink each day, that he/she can eat quickly and easy. Water bottles are also welcomed, but please make sure its label with your child's name. If your child is also bringing lunch from home, please differentiate between the two by writing “lunch” and “snack” outside the food container. If your child has a food allergy, please send in “safe snacks” (labeled with name).
Lunch: Your child is able to purchase lunch/milk in the cafeteria . If your child is buying school lunch, send a note to school and remind your child before coming to school that they will be buying lunch. We want students to be able to choose their lunch with independence. Your assistance in this will be greatly appreciated. Learn more about our school food services here
Change of clothes: Spills and accidents may happen during the school day. Please, send in a full change of clothes (labeled) in a ziplock bag. Clothes should be replaced according to the seasons and weather.
Birthdays: We celebrate birthdays by honoring our special student the whole week. Our room mom will be contact you when your child's birthday approaches to let you know what you need to send to school.
Communication: We will be using Seesaw for regular communication. You can also reach me by email [email protected]
